Monte-Carlo Ballet: Romeo & Juliet Istanbul

Dear art lovers and musical heads, we have great news again: Shakespeare’s timeless work “Romeo & Juliet” by the reinterpretation of director and choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot will be performed at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage on February 3 and 4.

Jean-Christophe Maillot is a French dancer and choreographer born and raised in Tours. Over 80 ballets created for the Monte Carlo Ballet may be found in the famous choreographer’s repertory, which helped the ballet achieve the prestigious status it holds today. Some of them can be listed as the following: Vers un pays sage (1995), Romeo and Juliet (1996), Cinderella (1999), La Belle (2001), Le Songe (2005), Altro Canto (2006), Faust (2007) and Casse-Noisette Compagnie (2013), ), La Mégère apprivoisée (2017), Abstract/Life (2018), Core meu, Coppél-i.A. Like (2019).

Also by inviting the leading choreographers of our time, such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Shen Wei, Alonzo King, Emio Greco, Chris Haring, Marco Goecke, Lucinda Childs, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Karole Armitage, Maurice Béjart and even Marie Chouinard, Jean- Christophe Maillot is aiming to enrich its repertoire.

In Monaco, creativity, education, and production have come together to support the choreographic craft at a level that is incomparable in the dance world.
